Adding and Editing Address Cards

When you open an address card, the window shown on the right opens to display the information. If you are creating a new address card, the fields are blank.

To create a new address card, click New Card in your address book. From the drop-down list at the top, select the address book where the card should be stored.

The window has three tabs where much information is collected. You can also define fields if additional information is needed.

In addition, you can add a new address from a message you receive. Click the To, cc, or bcc line in an open email message and select Add to Address Book. The window opens with the Email address already filled in.

If you double-click an address line in your address book, this window opens, displaying the stored information for the address you clicked, so that you can edit the address card.

Mozilla automatically stores any address to which you send email. To change the setting for an address book, select an address book. Click Edit and select Preferences. Double-click Mail & Newsgroups. Click Addressing. Check or uncheck "Add Email Addresses." Select the address book where you want to store the addresses from the drop-down list. Collected Addresses is an address book that is set up by default for automatic email collection.

Mozilla can import address books from other mail software. Click Tools and select Import to start a wizard for importing address books.

You can create a mailing list. Click New List. Add the addresses for the list. You can drag the address cards from the address book to the mailing list.
