Reading Email in Mozilla

Open Mozilla email by clicking the email icon on the status bar of the Mozilla browser. Or select it from the main menu, probably located in the Internet submenu. The window in Figure 17-5 opens.

Figure 17-5. Mozilla mail window.

The sidebar shows the accounts that are currently set up. In the figure, two accounts display: jvalade@eoni.com and Local Folders. Local Folders is a special account, specifically for storing email messages on your hard disk.

You can expand an account (click +) to see the folders stored for the account. You can create new folders. In the figure, the last two local folders (family, skiing) were created by the user. The other folders are all created by default by Mozilla mail. To create a folder, click File. Select New->Folder. Supply a name and location.

In the figure, the inbox is open. One message is in the inbox. To read a message, click it in the top pane; the contents display in the bottom box. In the figure, the inbox message is highlighted, so the message is open in the bottom pane.

You can drag any message from the open top pane to a folder in the sidebar.
