The Connector for Lotus cc:Mail supports the transfer of e-mail messages as well as directory synchronization between Exchange 2000 Server and Lotus cc:Mail. It provides reliable messaging connectivity for long-term coexistence, and it supports an efficient migration to Exchange 2000 Server based on automatic synchronization of address information.
Following a connector installation using the Exchange 2000 Server Setup program, the Connector for Lotus cc:Mail can be configured by means of a configuration object in Exchange System Manager. Only a few configuration settings are required, such as parameters regarding the Connector's Lotus cc:Mail partner post office. The Connector is able to register the Exchange 2000 Server organization in the partner post office automatically when directory synchronization is activated. By default, all Exchange users appear in Lotus cc:Mail as recipients on a huge proxy cc:Mail post office that corresponds to the organization name. Lotus cc:Mail users address messages to Exchange recipients just as they do for ordinary cc:Mail recipients.
