Setting Text Attributes via Menu

I l @ ve RuBoard

Flash offers two ways to set text attributes: the Text menu and the text- related Property Inspector. From the Text menu, you can set the font, size , style, paragraph alignment, and tracking of selected text. You learn to use the Property Inspector to make specific settings in subsequent exercises.

To set attributes via the Text menu:

  1. Following the steps in the preceding exercises, create a text block on the Stage.

  2. Use the text tool to select some or all of your text.

  3. From the Text menu, choose the attribute you want to modify (Figure 2.63).

Figure 2.63. The Text menu presents several options for applying type attributes to selected text.

  • Flash changes all the settings in the text-related Property Inspector to match the attributes of selected text, which means that by selecting text, you load the text tool with that text's attributes. Keep blocks of text with formatting you use often in the work area and just click to re-create their settings for the text tool.
