In Chapters 12 and 13, you created scripts for frames and objects that used simple actions to control the playback of a single Timeline. As you explore the full Actions set, you begin to work with more complex parameters. These complex actions allow you to manipulate objects within the main movie and within movie clips, and control their Timelines; test for the truth of certain conditions; retrieve information from user input, other movies, and other types of files; and control the programs that display your movies. The ways in which you can combine the elements of a movie with actions are too varied and advanced to cover in this book. But to get you started, this chapter takes you through some of the basic concepts that you need to create complex actions. |
