Team Focus

With all aspects of a solution and its supporting collateral approved for release, the remaining team members work with operations and support teams to deploy their respective solution components. After the deployment plan has been practiced and vetted in the Stabilize Track, a team follows the plan in preparing, installing, and stabilizing various aspects of the solution deployed to their designated environment(s) as well as training users, transitioning solution responsibility to operations, and obtaining sign-off for each deployment.

Although a solution was deemed ready, a team is often trimmed down to only those members needed to handle issues as they arise, which most likely will be related to deployment and integration into the target environment(s). In addition, stabilizing activities might continue during this period as solution components are transferred from a preproduction environment to a production environment. Table 11-1 describes the focus and responsibility areas of each team advocacy group during a Deploy Track. As operations and support teams assume more responsibility, a project team can be reduced even further.
