Summary

The foundational principles, mindsets, and proven practices discussed in this chapter are the heart of MSF. They are threaded through every model, process, and discipline. The foundational principles guide how a team should work together and with the organization and stakeholders to deliver a solution. The mindsets orient team member behavior. The proven practices discussed in this chapter, with more to come in subsequent chapters, are time-tested lessons learned with broad appeal. Although these commonsense concepts are easy to grasp, they can be quite challenging to implement well.
