Although the free versions that come with VFP 7 and VFP 8 have certain features disabled, they can still be used to create working setup packages. The version that comes with VFP 8 is much more useful in the real world than the version that comes with VFP 7, largely because it enables the upgrade path feature that allows you to create deployment packages to update previously installed versions of your products. The full versions of InstallShield Express have no disabled features and provide even greater capabilities.

If you ‚ re going to be doing any serious work with InstallShield Express, our opinion is that it is worth the price to get the full version. Although the versions of InstallShield Express that come with Visual FoxPro do not automatically qualify for an upgrade price to the full version, there are sometimes special offers that enable you to upgrade to the full version for considerably less than the price of a new license.
