In the previous lessons, you used Fireworks to create a logo and other graphic elements, such as the guitar and CD. You also designed several Web pages. Except in the few places where you added a text slice, your HTML pages are mostly images. More than likely, you will want to add text to your pages. Macromedia Dreamweaver 8 is a robust visual Web page authoring tool, and Macromedia Fireworks 8 is a powerful design and graphics editor. Used together, Fireworks and Dreamweaver are the dynamic duo of Web design tools. The two programs offer integration features to aid your workflow as you design and optimize your graphics, build your HTML pages, and place Web graphics on the page. In this lesson, you will use Dreamweaver to edit the pages created by Fireworks, return to Fireworks to change the graphics, and then return to Dreamweaver to make other edits. The tight integration between the two applications makes these tasks as simple as clicking a button. In this lesson you will export your pages as HTML files and then open them in Dreamweaver. You will create a Dreamweaver template and create new HTML pages from the template such as the page shown here. |
