A list using a dot leader (Leader #2) with a right alignment is shown in Figure 8-16. You can use this for lists such as the one shown, for menus, tables of contents (though I hope you’ll let Word create these for you automatically!) and other reference lists. I don’t recommend using leaders that extend far across the page and have very little text. It would be harder to read. If you have long lists, and like using the leaders, I suggest using a column format so that it’s not hard to travel your eyes across the leader to the referenced text.

Other leaders work the same as the dot leader. They just use different characters.
