This chapter describes certification issues and requirements and explains the steps you need to take to get a great score for your solution. Keep in mind that many simple things can cause an automatic failure on the exam, such as placing the database file in the wrong directory or omitting the README.TXT file.

This certification exam tests your ability to extract a set of requirements from project instructions, code a solid application, and document your work. Nothing in it is complicated. It is simply a matter of being careful about details and, perhaps, researching a topic you haven't handled before. For example, not many candidates have experience with Remote Method Invocation (RMI) before taking this exam.
