The Toolbar

The buttons in the Mail toolbar are duplicates of some of the commands that are available in the menu bar at the top of your monitor. You can customize the Mail toolbar just like you customize the one in Finder windows.

To add additional tool buttons to the toolbar, go to the View menu and choose "Customize Toolbar…." Or Control-click in the lower two/thirds of the toolbar, then choose "Customize Toolbar…" from the contextual menu that opens.

A sheet of buttons slides down from the toolbar; the buttons represent various functions, as shown below. Drag any of these icons to the toolbar, then click "Done."

To remove a button or spacer from the toolbar at any time, Command-drag it off the bar. To remove a button while the "Customize Toolbar" sheet is visible, just drag it off.

To rearrange a button or a spacer, Command-drag it to another position.
