The Calendar Pane


The Calendar pane provides a way to search for photos by date. Choose a year, month, week, or day, and iPhoto displays all photos in the Library or a selected album that were created during that time period.

To find photos by date using the Calendar

1.

In the "Source" pane, select the Library or an album to search.

Click the Calendar button (circled below) to show the Calendar pane.

3.

To switch between year-view and month-view, click the View arrow.

Calendar dates in bold type indicate that the selected album contains photos created (or imported) on those dates and iPhoto displays those photos in the viewing area.

To show photos from specific years, months, weeks or days

  • Click on the year name ("2005" in the example above) to show photos from all months.

  • To show all photos from one month, click the month.

  • To show all photos from several months, click the first month, then Command-click additional months. You can also use multiple selections to show photos from multiple weeks or days.

  • To show all photos from a specific day, set the calendar to month-view, then click the day.

  • To show all photos from a specific week, double-click its month, then click the dot next to the week.

  • To select the same month, week, or day for multiple years, press the Option key as you select.
