With Windows Server 2003, inspecting your system to see which protocols are installed is pretty simple. Just launch the Network Connections utility (choose Start Control Panel, right-click Network Connections, and then choose Open). Next, click the Advanced menu, and then choose Advanced Settings. You see the results of these actions in Figure 3-2.
The figure shows that we practice what we preached in this chapter by running only TCP/IP on our network. (Figure 3-2 shows that TCP/IP is bound to all the services that show up for our local area connection.) The only protocols that you have to worry about on your network are the ones that show up in this window (or the protocols that you know are supposed to show up but don't, as the case may sometimes be).
