In this lab, you troubleshoot a problem related to deploying security configurations that were imported into a GPO.
During a recent audit of configuration settings, you discovered that one of your client systems does not have the security configuration you imported into the Portable Computers Policy GPO. After logging on to the computer, you open a command prompt and execute Gpresult. You notice the following output:
The following GPOs were not applied because they were filtered out ------------------------------------------------------------------- Portable Computers Policy Filtering: Denied (Security) Local Group Policy Filtering: Not Applied (Empty) The computer is a part of the following security groups ------------------------------------------------------- BUILTIN\Administrators Everyone BUILTIN\Pre-Windows 2000 Compatible Access BUILTIN\Users Windows Authorization Access Group NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK NT AUTHORITY\Authenticated Users This Organization PORTACOMPUTER$ Dial-up Accessible Computers
The following questions are intended to reinforce key information presented in this lesson. If you are unable to answer a question, review the lesson materials and try the question again. You can find answers to the questions in the “Questions and Answers” section at the end of this chapter.
Why was the Portable Computers Policy not applied?
How will you resolve the problem?
Why was the Local Group Policy not applied?
Which other tools could you have used to identify the source of the problem?
