4.23 Chapter Summary

This chapter introduced the CLI of the Juniper Networks router. It examined the hierarchy and discussed the different modes available for use in the CLI. The operational mode provides a mechanism for examining status and retrieving statistics about the router. The configuration mode, on the other hand, gives the ability to turn features on the router on and off. The functional differences between each of the modes were explained through many examples of navigation through the CLI. This chapter served as a tool to help familiarize you with the CLI and to introduce the concept of the advanced configuration-management features that set the Juniper Networks router apart from the products of other vendors .
