About the Authors

Thomas M. Thomas II is a self-proclaimed nerd and country boy who holds his Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE #9360) as well as his Certified Cisco Systems Instructor (CCSI #21702), CCNP, CCDA, and CCNA certifications and claims he never works because he loves what he does. Tom is the founder of NetCerts.com (now CCPrep.com) and the International Network Resource Group (www.inrgi.net), where he is on the board of directors, providing vision and focus. He was previously an instructor for Chesapeake Computer Consultants and a course developer for Cisco Systems. He is the author of OSPF Network Design Solutions (Cisco Press, 1999) and a variety of other networking books designed to help his fellow engineers . Tom is currently working for Hired Guns. Tom lives in Raleigh, NC, with his family, and although he doesn't live in the country, he observes that you can see it from his house.

Doris Pavlichek is a CCNA and CCDA and works as a project manager for Ericsson IP Infrastructure in charge of managing product life-cycles and releases. She was formerly the director of customer service, where she led a team of senior engineers performing Tier 3 support of Ericsson routers (including OEM products from Juniper). She has fifteen years of networking experience, including design, implementation, and advanced troubleshooting in both government and business environments. She has also spent time teaching, performing site surveys, and specializing in network management and security. She is the author of Cisco Internetwork Design (McGraw-Hill, 2001).

Lawrence H. Dwyer III holds CCNA and MCSE certifications. Lawrence is currently the director of the Technical Support Lab for Ericsson IP Infrastructure. Prior to joining Ericsson, Lawrence worked as a senior consulting engineer for Integrated Communications Solutions, a Cisco Silver Channel Partner, and has written white papers for CCPrep.com. In addition, Lawrence has worked as a government contract project officer for the U.S. Army Medical's Telemedicine Advanced Technology Research Center (TATRC) and served eight years in the U.S. Navy providing tactical voice and data communications.

Rajah Chowbay is a Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist (JNCIS), Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE # 3445), Certified Ericsson Datacom Technician (E1), Certified Ericsson Instructor, and Certified Cisco Systems Instructor (CCSI). Rajah is currently working as Senior Technical Trainer/Technical Support Engineer with Ericsson IP Infrastructure. Before joining Ericsson, Rajah taught certified Cisco courses for Mentor Technologies and Automation Research Systems. Rajah has written white papers for CCPrep.com and performed technical peer reviews for Coriolis Group.

Wayne W. Downing III is a Senior Consulting Engineer with Ericsson IP Infrastructure, consulting on ISP solutions, including IP and MPLS based multi vendor core and mobile infrastructures . Wayne has held technical leadership positions with several service providers (MCI, Sprint, and AT&T), where he was responsible for network architecture, routing, and other business- related functions. Wayne also worked for Network Integration Services, Inc. (NISI), providing consulting services to Fortune 100 clients with a focus on design and integration strategies. He is a Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist (JNCIS) and also holds a variety of Cisco certifications. During his military service, Wayne was awarded the Presidential Service Badge while working as a Presidential Senior Radio Technician with the White House Communications Agency providing communications solutions for the President of the United States, during the G.H.W. Bush and W.J. Clinton administrations . Wayne is also the founder of NET3SOLUTIONS, an information technology consulting firm. NET3SOLUTIONS assists businesses in utilizing and deploying Information Technology solutions.

James Sonderegger holds a B.S. in political science and is a Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist (JNCIS) as well as a Juniper Networks Authorized Trainer (JNAT). He also holds Cisco and Ericsson proprietary certifications. James currently works as a course developer and senior instructor for Ericsson Training. Before joining Ericsson, James worked as a technical analyst for Automated Data Processing, and as an instructor's assistant for the Cisco Networking Academy courses at Kennesaw State University. Prior to that he spent several years touring the East Coast with the now defunct punk-rock band Hey, Zeus and the Tall Boys.
