  1. Obtain information about a Visual Basic topic.

     

    1.

    Press Alt/H/I to invoke the index.

    2.

    Type the topic into the "Look for:" box.

    3.

    Click on the topic or a subheading under the topic.

    4.

    If a second list pops up on the screen, double-click on an item from it.

  2. View the syntax and purpose of a Visual Basic keyword.

     

    1.

    Type the word into a Code window.

    2.

    Place the cursor on, or just following, the keyword.

    3.

    Press F1.

  3. Display an ASCII (similar to ANSI) table.

     

    1.

    Press Alt/H/I to invoke the index.

    2.

    Type the topic "ASCII" into the "Look for:" box.

    3.

    Click on the "ASCII characters" topic.

    4.

    In the page that appears, click either the Chart 1 or Chart 2 link.

    Type "reserved words" into the "Look for:" box.

    Click on the subheading Visual Basic keywords.

    Double-click on the entry titled "Visual Basic Language Keywords" in the second list.

  6. Obtain a list of shortcut keys.

     

    1.

    Press Alt/H/I to invoke the index.

    2.

    Type "keyboard shortcuts" into the "Look for:" box.

    3.

    Click on the topic "keyboard shortcuts."

    4.

    Click on "Shortcut Keys" in the small window that pops up.

  7. Obtain information about a control.

     

    1.

    Click on the control in the Form Designer.

    2.

    Press F1.
