Clearly, OOP is a vast topic. In this introduction, the foundation was laid, giving quick definitions of the key concepts. Many more details will follow over the next several chapters. Chapters 2, 3, and 4 explore classes and the entities that comprise them (properties and methods ). Chapter 5 explores inheritance. Chapter 6 explains a concept similar to inheritance ”interfaces. Chapter 7 delves into communications between objects, and Chapter 8 gives a primer on the fundamentals of object-oriented design. Don't despair if this is all a bit overwhelming at the moment. The more you work with these in everyday development, the easier the concepts will become. We hope reading this book brings you far more enjoyment than it brought those of us who wrote it (just kidding!). Actually, we sincerely hope you enjoy your explorations of the world of OOP with ActionScript 2.0 and that you find this book to be the perfect guide.
