  1. Open the drillguide.dwg file in the C:\Steps\Lesson15 folder. Create an appropriate dimension style to dimension the image as indicated in Figure 15.6.1a.

    Use small dot arrowheads but no center marks.

     

    1.2    

    Use an overall scale of 1.

     

    1.3    

    Use decimal units accurate to three decimal places (suppress trailing zeros).

     

    1.4    

    Use standard 1/8" text.

     

    1.5    

    Allow a tolerance deviation of 1 ° on all angles, and a precision of zero decimal places.

     

    1.6    

    All dimensions should be above the dimension line except radii which should be centered on the leader.

  2. Open the My Piping Plan 15.dwg file in the C:\Steps\Lesson15 folder. If this isn't available, open the Piping Plan 15.dwg file in the same folder. Create an appropriate dimension style to dimension the image as indicated in Figure 15.6.2.

    To determine the overall scale, refer to the scale factor in the Drawing Scales Chart (Appendix A). You'll plot this drawing at 3/8"=1'-0" on a D- Size sheet of paper.

     

    2.2    

    Use architectural units with a 1/16" precision.

     

    2.3    

    Suppress zero feet.

     

    2.4    

    Use the Times text style and a 1/8" text height.

     

    2.5    

    Center the dimension text above the dimension line.

     

    2.6    

    Use Closed Filled Arrowheads.

  3. Now let's dimension some of the other drawings we've created.

    3.1    

    Open the Block Guide.dwg file you created in Lesson 6 (in the C:\Steps\Lesson06 folder). (Alternately, you can use the Block Guide 15.dwg file in the C:\Steps\Lesson15 folder.) Dimension the drawing as shown in Figure 15.6.3.1a (Hint: The dimension text size is 3/16" and the arrow size is 1/8".)

    Save the drawing as MyBlockGuide15.dwg in the C:\Steps\Lesson15 folder.
    Open the MyHolder.dwg you created in Lesson 5 (in the C:\Steps\Lesson05 folder). ). (Alternately, you can use the Holder 15.dwg file in the C:\Steps\Lesson15 folder.) Dimension the drawing as shown in Figure 15.6.3.2a (Hint: The dimension text size is 3/16" and the arrow size is 1/8".)

    3.3    

    Open the Bracket.dwg file you created in Lesson 7 (in the C:\Steps\Lesson07 folder). ). (Alternately, you can use the Bracket 15.dwg file in the C:\Steps\Lesson15 folder.) Dimension the drawing as shown in Figure 15.6.3.3a (Hint: The dimension text size is 3/16" and the arrow heads are 1/8" obliques.)
