13.5 What Have We Learned?

Items covered in this lesson include:

  • Multiline text creation and editing

  • AutoCAD's spell checker

  • How to find and replace text

  • Commands:

    • MText

    • Spell

    • Find

If you were already familiar with word processors, this has probably been a fairly easy “ if not downright boring “ lesson. The only new thing for you would have been the Extra Steps part of the lesson where we learned to share dictionaries.

But if you were not familiar with word processors, this has probably been one of the easier “ almost fun “ lessons.

The decision to use MText or Text won't always be an easy one. Text is less complicated (once the styles have been created); MText has more capabilities. I would suggest that any time it's a toss up, go with the easier Text ( assuming , of course, that the style you need has already been created). AutoCAD, however, tends to favor the MText command. So it's really a question of preference. Do what is easier for you.

Take a break so that you'll be fresh when you start the next lesson. In Lesson 14, we'll look at dimensioning!
