the brain as a hologram

Atheory put forward by the American Karl Pribram (and others) is the so-called ˜Hologram Theory . Ahologram is a kind of threedimensional picture. An ordinary photo depicts an object in a way that a brain can interpret. If there is a horse on it, that is what we see. It is not possible to interpret a holographic plate from what we actually see. All we can see is a mass of patterns. However, if we let laser light hit it, we can see a three-dimensional object protrude on the other side of the plate.

The interesting thing about a hologram is that every little piece of the plate could recreate the whole. If we tear an ordinary photo of a horse to pieces, we will get as many pieces of the horse as we tear apart. If we break a holographic plate into pieces, every piece will still recreate the whole horse “ but the smaller the piece we have, the weaker the picture will be.

Is it the same way with the brain, that the memory is distributed all over the brain and all of it in every single cell ?
