Creating a Sample Report

 < Day Day Up >

Now that you have learned the report types available within the CSA MC, in this section you create a sample report to tie the pieces together. The Events by Severity report created provides you information regarding only Test Mode events, with a severity of Alert through Critical. You can sort this report further by host and display it in ActiveX. To create this report, you need to first create the event set that will limit the scope of events that the report will use. Figure 9-15 displays the sample event set created to limit the scope.

After creating the event set, you can proceed to report configuration. After navigating to the Event by Severity report section and clicking New, you can configure the report name and description, the event set, and the viewer to use. Figure 9-16 shows the report configuration.

After saving the report configuration, click View Report to open the report in the ActiveX viewer. When the report opens in the ActiveX Crystal Report viewer, you can view or save the report as necessary.
