Introduction to CiscoWorks 2000

The Router MC runs under CiscoWorks 2000. However, you do not have to purchase the CiscoWorks application to run the Router MC. Either VMS 2.1 Common Services or CiscoWorks 2000 is required to run the Router MC. VMS 2.1 Common Services provides a CiscoWorks 2000 shell you can use to access the Router MC.

Accessing the Router MC

To access the Router MC, you point your browser to the server on which it resides and add port 1741 to the URL. For instance, if the server running the Router MC is at 10.20.30.99, type http://10.20.30.99:1741 in the browser's address window.

Log in to the application with the default username of admin and the default password of admin . Once logged in to CiscoWorks, simply click the VPN/Security Management Solution drawer icon. Then, click the Management Center folder, and finally, click the VPN Routers link.

You are prompted to access a security certificate. After you accept the certificate, another window opens, and that window is the Management Center for VPN Routers.
