Dedication

This book is dedicated to Galen Rowell,

who achieved critical acclaim shooting landscape

photography with a 35mm camera.

By doing so, he opened museum and gallery doors to

all small format and digital photographers who want to

display the timeless beauty of nature, but prefer to use

modern tools instead of traditional large format cameras.

Galen and his wife Barbara died in a plane crash

on August 11, 2002 in Inyo County, California.
