This appendix provides installation instructions for the following web servers:

• Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) 4.0

• Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) 5.0

• Microsoft Personal Web Server (PWS) 4.0

• Apache

• IMatix Corporation Xitami

Please note that some sort of security issues surround most web servers. Therefore, before you use any web server in a production environment, you should first check the vendor's web site for any security information, relevant security patches, and so on. Also, because this appendix covers setting up a web server in its default mode only, another good reason to check the vendor's web site is to find further information on security settings.
