To see samples of the fonts installed on your system, open the Start menu and choose Settings, Control Panel, Fonts. (If you've set up your Start menu to include an expandable Control Panel, right-click Fonts. From the shortcut menu, choose either Open or Explore.)
Figure 13-1 shows an example of a Fonts folder.
The icons with an O represent OpenType fonts, those with two Ts represent TrueType fonts, those with a lowercase a represent Type 1 fonts, and those with a capital A denote raster and vector fonts. The point sizes for which the nonscalable fonts were designed are usually included with the font name.
To see a sample of any font, simply launch its icon—or right-click the icon and choose Open from the shortcut menu. As Figure 13-2 on the next page shows, the ensuing window displays the font at sample point sizes.
To print the font sample, click the Print button.

Like any other Windows Explorer window, the Fonts folder offers a Large Icons view, a List view, and a Details view of your font library. You can choose these options from the Standard Buttons toolbar or the View menu. In addition, the View menu of the Fonts folder offers these additional viewing options:
