Scanning Images

[Previous] [Next]

If you have a scanner installed, you can scan images directly into Paint instead of drawing from scratch. You can then use Paint to touch up your scanned images before saving them.

To scan an image:

  1. Open the File menu and choose Select Source to display a dialog box similar to the one shown below.
  2. The Select Source dialog box lists all the scanners you have installed. For information about installing a scanner, see "Installing and Configuring a Scanner or Camera."

  3. Select the scanner device you want and click Select.
  4. Open the File menu and choose Scan New.
  5. A dialog box specific to your scanner appears.

  6. From the scanner dialog box that appears, set your scan options and use its controls to scan the image.
  7. Close the dialog box to return to Paint, where you'll see your newly scanned image.
