Getting Details About a Device Driver

At times you might find it useful to know the filename or version number of a device driver. You can get this information as follows:

1. Double-click the device entry to display its properties dialog box.
2. Click the Driver tab.
3. Click Driver Details.

Figure 25-4 shows the Driver File Details dialog box for a display adapter. As you can see, the dialog box displays the name and location, version number, provider, and copyright date of each driver file used by the selected device. The version number, in particular, might be good to know if you need to contact a device vendor's technical support department.
