Using Tablet PC’s wireless capabilities
Using Ink with Outlook
Working in Outlook with voice commands
Sending Journal Notes to Outlook
Using Windows Messaging to chat in real time
Imagine this: You are running through a busy airport when suddenly you get an absolutely brilliant idea. You stop, sit down, pull out your Tablet PC, connect it to a wireless network, and send your boss an — e-mail message outlining your idea. When your plane lands in Chicago, you turn on your Tablet PC and discover that your boss has sent a fax to your computer telling you that your brilliant idea was brilliant and that you’ve been made a Vice President and given a $100,000 raise.
Well, I can’t guarantee the brilliant idea and its associated perks, but I can tell you that Tablet PC gives you the ability to communicate while on the go. In fact, one of Tablet PC’s most important roles is to connect you to others as you wander around the corridors, airports, and meeting rooms that make up your world.
This chapter focuses on three aspects of that connectivity: using the wire-less capability built into most Tablet PCs, working with Outlook using Ink and speech features to write and send e-mail, and using Windows Messaging to chat in real time.
