Rather than choosing an option, click outside the Paste Options menu. You may need to add (or remove) a space at the insertion point; doing so removes the Paste Options button.

INTRODUCTION

The great thing about using a word-processing program is the ability to cut and paste text from one place in your document to another. When you cut and paste, you remove the text from one location and paste it into another.

TIP

Understanding the Paste Options

By default, pasted text keeps its original (source) formatting. If you want the pasted text to take on the formatting of the text into which you pasted it, click Match Destination Formatting in the Paste Options menu. To remove all its formatting, choose Keep Text Only . To display further formatting options for your pasted text, choose Apply Style or Formatting . If you don't want to see Paste Options buttons , open the Tools menu and choose Options , click the Edit tab, clear the Show Paste Options buttons check box, and click OK .
