To insert text between two words that you have already typed, move the insertion point to just before the first letter of the second word.
Type your text, and press the Spacebar .
You can also move the insertion point to just after a word before you begin typing.
If you do this, you will need to press the Spacebar first, and then type your text.
INTRODUCTION
As you type a document, you'll likely need to add some text here and there. When you type new text, Word pushes the existing text out of the way to make room. Depending on the location of the insertion point when you start typing, you will either need to add a space at the beginning of the insertion or at the end.
TIP
Replacing Text
If you want to replace a block of text with new text, it's fastest to select (highlight) the existing text first and then type right over it with the new text. See "Deleting Text" in Part 3 for more information.
TIP
Deleting Text As You Type
The default behavior described in this task is insert mode. If you press your Insert key, however, Word switches to overtype mode. When this mode is active, each character you type replaces the character to the right of the insertion point.
