option button
A small white circle that you click to choose an option in a dialog box. If the option button has a black dot in it, it is currently enabled; if it doesn't, it is disabled. Option buttons are mutually exclusive; you can mark only one option button in a group .
OverType mode
When you turn on this feature, each character you type replaces the existing character to the right of the insertion point. By default, OverType mode is turned off, so as you type, existing characters are not replaced ; they just move to the right to make room for the new text.
