The Digital Audio-Visual Council (DAVIC) developed technical specifications to assure the end-to-end interoperability for digital audio-visual applications. DAVIC was an international forum that primarily addressed service provider and CPE aspects for video-on-demand and broadcast video services. DAVIC had over 200 member companies in 1997. In addition to the Forum Management committees , DAVIC consisted of working groups addressing applications, physical layers , information representation, security, subsystems, and systems integration. DAVIC produced a specification for TV distribution, video-on-demand, and teleshopping. DAVIC ceased operation in 1999. |
