An entire book could easily be written on customizations alone, so one chapter cannot cover the whole spectrum of possibilities. A primary goal of this chapter is to show how quickly and easily the standard Web Parts can be customized without requiring any HTML or XML programming. This chapter covers personal sites, and some of the customizations that can be performed relatively quickly and easily. Some of the customization possibilities when using FrontPage 2003 are covered as well. Finally several examples are given of several standard Web Parts can be customized and used to meet the needs of different types of users. The examples used do not walk through each step of the process in many cases. The chapter assumes that the reader is familiar with the basic steps required to find and add Web Parts to a page, can navigate between pages and sites, and understands the basic SharePoint 2003 terminology. |
