Changing Type Size

The Font tab is very useful, but sometimes these shortcut tools are quicker than opening the dialog box, especially if all you want to do is change the size.

  1. Highlight "Hello World!" with the mouse.

Once again this makes Hello World! the text that will be manipulated.

  2. Click the F+ icon in the Fonts quickbar menu.

This causes the Editor to insert the tag <font size="+1"> . This will increase the font size to 4, because the default font size is 3 and you have added 1 to that.

NOTE

Notice that another <font> tag has been added to your page. You now have two font tags for one piece of text. This is where the limits of the tools begin to show. It would have been much easier for you to add size="+1" to your already existing font tag. You could have right-clicked while inside the font tag, and used the tag editor window to change the size. Or you could have increased the size of the font first and then right-clicked on the tag again and ran the tag editor to change the face and color . Either way, ideally you should have only the one font tag. It doesn't matter which of the above methods you use; any will make your HTML cleaner by using just one font tag.
