Summary

This lesson discussed the Datasheet view and the Explorer view and gave examples of some of the tools these views give you access to. The Datasheet view offers tools that Excel users will appreciate, including the Totals option and more advanced filter options, which make it easier to find and display certain subsets of information from longer lists. The task pane is also available in the Datasheet view and offers the Cut, Copy, and Paste tools, which can be very helpful, as well as the Export and Link to Excel feature and the Export to Access feature, which can be very valuable to power users. The Explorer view available in document libraries and picture libraries is a great way to cut, copy, delete, or rename files using a Windows Explorertype interface. The Explorer view also provides an excellent way to move files from one library to another and to upload a number of files at once.
