Summary

The role of Site Administrator for a SharePoint site cannot be taken lightly. Although it is the responsibility of the Contributors to add and modify information, it is up to the Site Administrator to manage all the access requests and content sources. Once you get the hang of the basics associated with administrating SharePoint, it becomes much easier moving forward.

In addition to the tasks outlined in this chapter, there are many other additional roles that a Site Administrator will likely perform. Many of these roles are presented in the remaining chapters of this book, which focus on specific tasks and procedures that Site Administrators follow.
