After you and your design team finish creating the OU Plan, the next stage in designing an Active Directory directory services infrastructure is to create a site topology plan. An Active Directory site topology is a logical representation of an organization's physical network. Creating a site topology plan includes defining sites, placing domain controllers, defining a replication strategy, and placing global catalog servers and operations masters within a forest.
