Summary

Microsoft CRM offers many different reporting and analysis tools to choose from. The tools range from simple options such as views and Excel exports to a sophisticated enterprise-class reporting tool such as SQL Server Reporting Services. And, of course, you can extend the reporting options even further to include your own third-party reporting tool if necessary. Add all of these options together and you have almost unlimited flexibility to get your customer data out of Microsoft CRM.

Microsoft CRM includes 20 different Reporting Services reports as part of the default installation, and you can modify all of these reports as necessary. You can also create entirely new reports by using the Report Designer add-in for Visual Studio .NET. You can deploy your new reports seamlessly into the Microsoft CRM user interface. Reporting Services also allows you to configure report scheduling tasks such as caching results, taking report snapshots, or delivering reports via e-mail.
