A form of computer image file using the file extension .GIF, commonly used for inline images in Web pages.
handle
A small, square box that appears along the outlines of tables, pictures, and forms when these objects are selected in FrontPage 2003's Design view. You drag handles to perform actions that affect the size and shape of these objects.
heading
A short line of text, often set large and bold, that marks the start of a particular section of a document, such as a Web page.
highlight color
A transparent band of color laid over selected text in a Web page to call attention to the text.
horizontal line
In a Web page, a straight line that divides sections of the page horizontally. Also known as a horizontal rule.
hotspot
In FrontPage 2003 , a region within the area of a picture in a Web page. Web authors may define multiple hotspots within a single picture, so that clicking different parts of the picture activates different links. Pictures with hotspots are known generally in Web parlance as image maps .
HTML (Hypertext Markup Language)
The document formatting language used to create Web pages. The files produced by Web authoring programs such as FrontPage 2003 are HTML files.
