Illustrator creates vector, or mathematically plotted, artwork comprised of points and Bézier curves that connect those points. A path is a sequence of at least two points joined by path segments, which may be straight or curved. Although Illustrator imports, exports, and works with pixel-based raster images, its main functionand the area in which it leads all othersis in drawing vector paths and shapes.
