Wrapping Up

The trick to using applications with Windows XP is simply compatibility. Applications that were written for older versions of Windows may work fine with Windows XP, and if they do not, you can use the Program Compatibility Wizard to try to get the program to operate. However, even this option is not foolproof, so as you are installing applications on Windows XP computers, always think about compatibility.

In the next chapter, we’ll turn our attention to user accounts and permissions.
