Windows XP is designed to be an easy operating system to use, but it is quite different from previous versions of Windows. As an A+ technician, you are likely to run into use questions and problems relating to Windows XP’s basic operations and appearance. The good news is that Windows XP is rather flexible and you can easily address most appearance and display issues that users encounter. Remember, though, that user training is of utmost importance. As you are working with users in your environment, try to help users understand how XP works and how it is different from previous versions of Windows. This gives you the opportunity to support users’ technical needs, but also teach them something new.
Now that you’ve taken a look at Windows XP’s operating system fundamentals, let’s now turn our attention to file, folder, and disk management in Chapter 3.
