Importing Sequential Files

It would take a long time to edit together a thousand individual frames, creating the illusion of an animation. If you use certain programs that can output individual sequential frames (such as 3D Studio Max or Infini-D), you can import these files into Premiere as one unit an animation file. The most important part is that each clip be properly numbered to show Premiere the order of the files.

Here's an example:

filename001.bmp

filename002.bmp

filename003.bmp

To import the series of individual frames, do the following:

  1. Select the bin in which to store the imported file.

  2. Select File > Import.

  3. Select File from the pop-up menu.

  4. Find the first numbered file in the sequential grouping.

  5. Click OK.

  6. Check the Numbered Stills check box at the bottom of the Import window, as shown in Figure 2.23.

  7. Click Open.
