Which platform should you start working on? Macintosh? Windows? Fortunately, Premiere and most of its files are native cross-platform formats. This means that you can move your raw Premiere projects, bins, and so on between different systems, as long as there is a version of Premiere installed on each computer. That means that you can take a Premiere project file started on a Windows platform and finish it on a Macintosh with Premiere. Keep in mind that not all aspects of a project are cross-platform, especially media files. There are a few points to keep in mind:
author's note To avoid cross-platform naming incompatibilities, I recommend using a traditional 8.3 naming structure when possible. This means that you should limit your filename to eight letters with a three-letter file type extension. It's perfectly fine to have folders with longer names. I just recommend keeping the filenames short. |
