Quick-Set Style Settings

One of the great new time-saving features in the new version of the Adobe Title Designer is the ability to create and save custom style settings. These custom style settings can be saved with as many or as few text properties as you want to set from the Object Style area. These style settings allow you to quickly and easily apply a presaved setting to any text you type in the Adobe Title Designer. The instant application of this style, with all your presaved parameters applied, can save you a tremendous amount of time so that you do not have to go back every time and adjust all the parameters. If you use a particular font with a certain look and feel, you can instantly achieve that look every time with exact precision with one simple click of the mouse. Simply click the presaved Style setting in the Styles area of the Adobe Title Designer window, as shown in Figure 9.9.

To save your own custom styles, do the following:

  1. Adjust the Object Style parameters to the desired settings.

  2. Click the Save As button in the Styles area. The New Style Name dialog box appears.

  3. Enter a name for this new, custom style you have created.

  4. Click OK. The new style appears in the Styles area.

Click the triangle in the upper-right corner of the Styles area to bring up a pop-up menu, as shown in Figure 9.10. Here you have options for controlling, organizing, and viewing your styles. Similar to your bins, you can choose to view the styles either by their icons or in text mode. Here is one area I believe working in icon mode is much better than working in text mode. You can quickly see the style you want to apply to your text.

note

To delete a style, simply select the style you want to delete, and click the garbage can icon.

tip

You can create style libraries to help sort and organize the different styles you might need in any manner so that you can work more efficiently.
