Using Text from Other Projects

Why not save as much time as possible and avoid doing the same work twice (or more)? If you have already created text in another project that you can use again in your current project, simply import the file instead of retyping it from scratch. To import a text file created with the Adobe Title Designer from a different Premiere project, do the following:

  1. Select the bin where you want to import the previously created text file.

  2. Select File > Import.

  3. Select File from the pop-up menu, or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl-I (Windows) or Command-I (Macintosh).

  4. Locate the file you saved, and click OK.

After you have imported the clip into your project (inside a bin), you can edit the title into your timeline just as you would any other type of file. You now have a completely editable text file that you can reopen in the Adobe Title Designer if you need to make any modifications.
