Various Results with Filters

You can achieve millions of different combinations from playing around with effects. Experimenting with the value settings on most of the filters might inspire you to come up with some wild and off-the-wall ideas. Not all are appropriate for all projects. Please be selective when choosing effects (I beg you). Don't just apply effects anywhere just because you can. Determine if they are appropriate within the project's scope. The process of applying segment effects is simple the same for just about all the effects. Drag the desired effect from the Effect window and drop it on the clip in your timeline. There are really too many possibilities to list in this chapter. Create your own. Experiment.

The best way to experiment with filters and effects is to view the adjustments as they happen in real time. To choose this option, select Preview During Adjust from the pop-up menu in the Effects Control window, as shown in Figure 6.34.
