On the Go! iPod in Your Car

The iPod and iPod Mini are more than storage for your music: It is all ready to accompany you in your car, and with a little planning, you don't even have to touch it.

Tip

Driving and operating your iPod do not go hand in hand, so as a good driving tip, avoid actually manipulating your iPod while driving. If you have to change songs or playlist, please do us other drivers the courtesy and park first.

As with any other distraction a driver has to deal with while on the road, you need to minimize how much you need to touch your iPod. Although no solution listed here is completely hands free, many will help you manage your iPod better while in your vehicle.

You need either one of two things to get your iPod to work in your car; a wireless FM transmitter or an audio-in jack in your car stereo. They both have their own merits, and the following sections look at the two apporaches.
